Tri-County Nursing provides compassionate, high quality long-term care and rehabilitation services to the frail and aging members of the Adirondack communities. This nursing home is very important to the community for reasons beyond the exceptional care they offer to those during their last years of life. With 120 full and part time employees, it’s also the largest year-round employer in a 30-mile radius of North Creek, NY. New home-care agencies have made it difficult for nursing and rehab centers to survive. Tri-County requested $60,000 from Cloudsplitter to purchase a new bus. They were using a bus with over 200,000 miles and eight years of life on it. They wanted to purchase something smaller and more economical because it travels 45 miles to hospitals once or twice per day with residents. Cloudsplitter awarded Tri-County Nursing up to $30,000 as a 1:1 match.
Grant Analysis: A clear success
Although they felt it would be nearly impossible to raise half of the funds to purchase a new bus, Tri-County was able to fundraise the needed $28,500 to meet Cloudsplitter’s match. For a total cost of $57,000, a new bus was purchased and delivered, and is being used on a regular basis for transporting the residents and patients of ATCNRC.
