St. Eustace Church

St. Eustace Church has served the Lake Placid area for 115 years. In 1924 the building was physically moved from its site at the corner of Victor Herbert Drive and Lake Street to its present location on Main Street across from Mid’s Park. It has always been an integral part of the community. Parishioners have often held leadership roles in lake Placid.

In early 2019 the church asked the Cloudsplitter Foundation for help with its capital campaign to repair its roof.  The church is a key resource to the community, not just for religious purposes.  In May, Cloudsplitter awarded St. Eustace $5,000 towards the larger campaign.

In November 2019 the work on the roof had been completed.  The steeple is in the process of being repaired.

The Adirondacks are full of organizations that we love and that are irreplaceable. Cloudsplitter will continue to evaluate and prioritize systemic threats so that we have the resources to respond now and into the future. Given the unknowns of the current funding environment, we wanted to be clear with our grant applicants that we may be less likely to fund capital projects, events, projects far outside the Adirondack park, and very large grant requests ($50K+) at this time. If you feel something within those categories deserves our attention, please contact chenelle@cloudsplitter directly prior to submitting a grant to discuss further.
